The 2010 Census is seeking workers.  Census takers make $17.75 an hour in the Chester County area.  Most hiring will take place in the spring.

Census takers work in their own communities conducting brief interviews, helping neighbors complete their Census questionnaire and recording responses on paper forms.  The job requires people to work when most people are typically at home, which includes evening and weekend hours.

Census data is used to decide how to distribute billions of dollars in federal funding to states and localities for education, community health care, public transportation, housing, and more.
