Ross Internet Program Features Electronic Recycling Proposal
8/27/2009
To help residents live greener lives, Rep. Chris Ross (R-Chester) explains his proposal that sets up a statewide electronic waste recycling program to help meet that goal on a five-minute video program residents can watch on their home computers.

“The measure is designed to recover and recycle electronic waste, mainly computer equipment and televisions,” Ross said. “In many cases recycling events are held only a few times a year and transporting items to these events can troublesome.”

Ross said a comprehensive state program is needed because a recycling program has not been enacted on the federal level.

House Bill 708 has been approved by the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee and is now in House Appropriations Committee. The bill may come before the full House by the end of the year.
